It involves defying tradition/ stubborn elderly advisors and risking everything to end the cycle of war. A gambit in which lost, irreverent Aussies are the perfect allies.
Regent Ruarnon seeks allies to recover their parents from a sorcerer king. Lost Aussie Linh and her friends seek their way home. But secrets lie across the seas. Secrets about the true nature of magic, weapons with which the Sorcery War was fought, and forgotten its survivors. Sorcerer-king Nartzeer has his own goals for the secrets, and an army of evolving monsters to accomplish them. It’s a perilous time to be sailing the eastern seas.
Regent Ruarnon’s expedition to recover lost family members, and an entire army from enslavement, sails west. Allies are hard to find, in a kingdom brought to its knees by weather enchantments. Sorcerer-king Nartzeer is recruiting sorcerers openly, and is beloved, or feared and hated, on a continent divided. In a climate of fear and anger, and confused mythology; the world’s two most powerful organisations are on the brink of a second sorcery war. What Ruarnon’s expedition uncovers could halt mutually assured destruction in its tracks, if they can save the most brilliant and unstable mind in the world in time.
